Lack Of High Definition Channels

Before you get all ZuD’s what?

Rag is defined as a slang term for a newspaper or magazine, so I thought ok, that’s close, but here is the definition that really fit “ A small piece of anything with no value” Or even better “Shred, scrap or fragmentary bit of anything” now that one really nails it for me… cause if nothing else, my posts tend to be fragmentary at best!

In that spirit of fragmentary blogging:

I am really getting steamed about the lack of High Definition channels on our local Comcast system. I see where they have changed up a few, dropped the Mark Cuban channels for MTV and Discovery and I guess that’s ok, except that I recall the Cuban channels carried occasional NBA games and for that I would really have liked to have.

My wish list in case any one of influence is in tune with this Rag… NBA TV, Versus, NFL Network and Fox Sports Net Detroit. Put those channels on in HD and I will gladly pay my ever growing cable bill!

ZuD's Rag, How Do You Do?

So as we ride this jag of caffeinated ramblings I want to get it out there that I realize no one reads this besides the Hulk Hogan daughter googlers and the Dan Patrick fans googling to find out the real story about Rob Dibble but wait there’s more…

No there really isn’t although we are grateful to the few vlogggers that continue to subscribe to this site in hopes I will whip out the old Nokia N90 and delve into that most bizarre behavior again. I am sufficiently content to consume sports in massive quantities each and every weekend I can.

But that doesn’t get to the heart of what ZuD was about oh these many decades ago… Lets go back, way back to the time of cultural revolution; LBJ, Nixon and the establishment, when Walter Cronkite held us for a half hour each weeknight spelling out the days tragedies and ills. ZuD had Dial a Trip and the ZuDfunck Tapes and ruled the counter culture in Metro Detroit via a telephone answering machine delivering daily bits of wisdom and truth.

We are along way away from that with our fractionalized solitary lifestyles only concerned about our self interests and whims. Where the country is headed and what society has become are far off in the ether that is busy with transmitting reality shows and get rich dreams to unsuspecting lemmings of American society, content if they have a roof and enough money to pay the cable bill!

Maybe that should be ZuD’s new mission the protector of Americas’ Ether…

You know how folks for years have railed about protecting the environment, waterways and such. I could become the protector of our ether. I love to have a mission and I think that might be our new crusade. The ether is dying and what are you doing about it? Well the death thing is a bit much.  It isn’t dyoing as much as it is being polluted with shows and programming that appeals to the ugly side of folks not the pure and noble pursuits of professional sports enthusiasts!

High Definition, Plasma Watching, Sports Addict

I wanna be more than just a shill for ticket brokers.

I wanna be more than a consumer of televised sports events

I wanna influence people and bring them to my site so they will feel welcome and apart of the ZuDfunck revolution!

To that end I will be posting more frequently and succinctly about the things that matter in life:

SPORTS!

All the rest is a platform to support it and you know that is rite!

So to that refined and singular task are my picks…

Well wait there is a problem its only Monday. My editor wanted me to get something out there so its premature for the picks but how bout this? After being exposed to High Definition televisions the last couple of years I finally felt the price point was justifiable and made the leap into luscious, stylish and exorbitant Hi Def sports viewing in my home. After the initial buyers remorse of the Thursday purchase had subsided I settled into to a selfish weekend of Hi Def luxury. That is after I got over the shock of seeing how standard definition sucks when you view it on a Plasma Panasonic. The fix? Turn all the settings to Zero and the picture both in HD & SD are most pleasing. I got to see the Tiger fans down the street freezing their cohunes off. While I sat in warmth and comfort viewing them between breaks in College Football Primetime.

We will continue with this captivating story once I get this initial post on the Mojo wire…Stay tuned! Z
