Happy Ninth Birthday Google

Another Banner, Another Disaster Averted

Yes Margaret there is a new banner cause the old one sucked
Like I was being a bitch
And I ain't no bitch, Bitch!

So another incarnation but still on the hippie venue as I think what baby boomers got caught up in was hippiedom but it was just a phase. Like the dope phase or the sex phase or the dope phase oh wait I said that already

I think its important to reflect on where we been cause right now it feels like we are in such a bad phase, what with the war and economy
Hell three days ago I thought American automobile manufacturing was history. But wiser minds prevailed and we still can bang out some badass rides for the kids to drag down Woodward…

But more important to have to shelve all those great tunes in the archive {Insert here any song from Bob Seger or Johnny Cash about making Thunderbirds}

And no longer have a history to be proud of or to lean on
You can only discontinue so much until it ain't nothing
Seems like nothing comes from America anymore
it just all gets shipped to our shelves and all we do is consume.

How’s that gonna work?

Common Threads Can Unite Closeted Hippies

As a blogger I always am thinking of things held in common with browsers so I get readers and subscribers and advertisers.
But, as a Hippie, I have direct and distinct avoidance tendencies to that, that is common.
An automatic reflex to reject that that is common or popular.
So you can see how a Hippie blogger may be pulled and twisted possibly demented at times as one searches for blog post subject matter.

Before I came out of the closet as a Hippie
My common threads were sports, tech stuff, and music and I could ride those topics pretty easily as they bring great passion and joy to me.
But now that I have revealed my true stripes I am having a harder time being Joe the Jock, or Myron the geek or …. can't think of a music name stereotype.

Harry the Hippie by Bobby Womack is the song that finally awoke the sleeping hippie within me, for those not familiar, he was a mildly popular rhythm and blues, soul singer from the late sixties early seventies.

I have the track in MP3 format and Download harry_hippie.2.mp3

so you of later generations can appreciate what music played with real instruments and voices that sang and productions facilities that used vacuum tubes that glowed and hummed as they captured what real music was.

I drifted there didn’t I?
My point is the common threads that are easy if you want to gossip about Britney or rave about the Patriots or what that new TV show is going to do are all so much easier to do and that my mission and purpose, the revival, reinstating and value of hippiedom is a great challenge. So I could use your help be it in commenting to these posts or submitting your photos of what your hippie life looked like back then and what you look or live like now.

Closeted hippies live a twisted existence and we must help each other by sharing our double lives and yet preserve the core values of what it is to be a hippie.
Be proud my people, we are a dying breed of mankind and must reveal ourselves to the future generations so they can see the value and richness we abide by and possibly learn from our experience.

Hippies Look Out Windows

And as I do I notice the volume of leaves on the ground and the change from green to brown:

My Computer and Me, I Know Its Mine

It's on slow mornings of the weekends, not much unlike this one, in which I ponder which browser I like more Camino or Firefox.
Now if you don’t use a Mac computer you have no idea what I am talking about.
In fact you would have some feel for it because that is how you are reading this piece via the internet, from a screen displayed via a piece of software that is referred to as a browser.

Not what you tell someone when they want to sell you a shirt or towel at Hudson’s, but what you do with a computer to view text or pictures about things that matter to you.

I hated computers for a very long time because they were not pretty to look at, they glowed and they blinked and they hummed and they stared at you as if you were supposed to be doing something at that moment.

But now computers are my friends. They make me feel connected and safe and part of a world I don’t understand. But because I know my computer understands I am not afraid anymore. Well, I shouldn’t be that declarative, I still get uncomfortable and worry and wander into places my browser probably shouldn’t have taken me, but I know I can leave easily and with the proper settings no harm nor sign that I was ever there will be known to anyone but the two of us, my computer and me.

'AhA' on a Saturday Morning with You

As we begin or approach one of the heaviest trafficked days of browsing this the Saturday of September one of the last in 2007, the clock radio came on the CBS Radio network news of Barry Bonds making his last year of playing Baseball…

Can this be? No More Barry playing ball in the city of Alcatraz? Remember Birdman of Alcatraz? Remember Burt Lancaster? Remember that style of speech, those perfect teeth, that manner of speech? Oh how I miss his movies!

Remember when he played a ballplayer in that baseball movie with Kevin Costner and James Earl Jones riding cross-country in that VW bus. This being a Hippie Blog we can’t have a post without the mention of a Volkswagen bus and how it was so important that their mission be defined and in that night time ride missions became defined as they came into view of the ballpark Kevin had built in what was once his cornfield?

I spend my life looking for those defining moments of clarity where it all comes together and there is someone with you like the voice of CNN to make sure it is on the level.

That’s the kind of Saturday mornings I want to have with you, the moment of clarity ZuD shares with you as you read what I wrote and we both pause and say, “aha”.

Good Morning Dear Zuddie!

No Emmy's, Instead NBC's Sunday Night football

Thought on what we will do and don't do tonight:

Ain't doing the Emmy's tonight-Plus Fox football telecast are grainer compared to 1080i CBS. and that damn robot dancings drives me up the Wall

Fox Emmy's Actresses in boob revealing Dresses
Now we hang with that having been with breasts enamoring since Playboy magazine came out!

My biggest dilemma are the shows up for nomination's for Deadwood, the Wire, and John from Cincinnati and Lost. I really don't know that much about TV fare.

Now if they awarded for NBA or NFL announcers The pre-game half time dudes, I would be font and center.
Commercial programming might have some connection
But the threads and interest are snapping to what aligned to me Emmy viewing.

Anyway Pats's charges are are in and I want to see how Maddens treats one of his own! Behind the scenes of ZuD's huge obsession.

iPhone After Being Put in a Blender

I wonder if this was the 4 Gig or 8 Gig and if it was the 599 or 399 dollar model?
Either way what a waste...

I am Starting to Distrust Google

Google_desktop

What are all these Google Desktop programs 'really doing'?
Could they not be sending back cyber smoke signals back to Mountain View?

Plus they have whittled down my income over the years to shekels. I used to make a good amount of coin from their ads
Thats why I am going with MS for ads to see if I can't make some real coin.

Now watch my Google Page Rank drop to 1
As a result of posting this

My distrust doesn't mean I won't continue to us Maps, they are so cool with the eye from the sky like quality
But I could load up Ask.com and I already love Entourage and Word and use Excel
Power Point sucks Keynote is the bomb!
and with OSX 5 almost here, I'll probably change up this Blog again to 'Leopard Loving ZuD'
But all in this moment-I remain distrusting of Google Desktop and what it does to my shiny iMac.
